De Happening returns. After the first one last year, which was a tribute to Simon Vinkenoog, the second one revolves around the energies of jazz and improvisation: samenspel onder hoogspanning (translation: interplay on high voltage). Carolina Eyck and Eversines perform the music from their new album Waves live for the first time. Geertje Bijma and Oceanic join forces for an improvised piece, while they have a record forthcoming on yeyeh as well.
The joint project of Carolina Eyck and Eversines
consists fully of two elements: the theremin and vocals. Their LP Waves
is Eversines second release on yeyeh, after his first spolo EP Bloei. Carolina played together with big orchestra and artists, including Jeff Mills. With her tour she celebrates that the theremin is a 100 years old in 2019.
Greetje Bijma has been a singer in the jazz scene since the early 1980s. She worked with artists like De Noodband, Louis Andriessen and Willem Breuker. In 1991 she released the album Tales of a Voice with the Greetje Bijma Kwintet, one of today's classics.
