CINEMA DS X IDFA: OBSCURO BAROCCO
Cinema DS and the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam present three film nights at De School on April 10th, 17th and 24th. In these documentaries, city nightlife forms the backdrop for young protagonists in search of extremes. Wandering, fleeing, or fighting; against themselves or against the system. In Amsterdam, Paris, Chongqing, and Rio de Janeiro they lose themselves in adventure. Each time with a different ending, but the question of how it all started is actually much more exciting.
Brazilian trans legend Luana Muniz (1961-2017) takes you through Rio de Janeiro in Obscuro Barocco. A hallucinatory, sensual film essay about identity and self-expression, directed by Evangelia Kranioti.
